Project lifecycle

The Engineering Lifecycle: From Concept to Construction

Four phases, one coordinated handoff. Each phase produces a distinct deliverable set, and the work we do at each stage is shaped by what came before it.

Phase 1 / FEL-2

Pre-FEED & Feasibility

Concept validation, technology selection, AACE Class 5/4 CAPEX estimates, and preliminary plot plans. The stage that decides whether a project is worth engineering further.

Pre-FEED services
Phase 2 / FEL-3

FEED Engineering

Finalized PFDs, closed HAZOP, 30% 3D model, and an AACE Class 3 estimate. The package that makes every EPC bid comparable.

Current Scope Phase 3

Detailed Engineering

IFC/AFC drawings, fabrication packages, and multi-discipline coordination across every system. The phase that turns a design basis into something a construction team can build from.

Phase 4

Turnkey Continuity & Fabrication

Our manufacturing teams absorb the coordinated 3D models and IFC data directly to execute shop fabrication, modular skid assembly, and final site delivery under a single point of responsibility.

Engineering disciplines

Multidisciplinary Engineering Synchronized in 3D

Eight core disciplines designed against the same spatial models to eliminate interface clashes and deliver fabrication-grade documentation.

01 // PROCESS

Process Engineering

Finalized PFDs, P&IDs, heat and mass balances, equipment datasheets, and process simulation. The technical baseline every other discipline designs against.

PFD / P&ID HMB Equipment Datasheets PHA Support
Full process scope → Pre-FEED → FEED → Detailed
02 // PIPING

Piping Engineering

3D piping layout, isometrics, pipe spools, stress/flexibility analysis, and material take-offs. Routed against vendor-confirmed equipment geometry, not budgetary quotes.

3D Layout Isometrics Stress Analysis MTO
Full piping scope → FEED → Detailed
03 // ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION

Electrical & Instrumentation

Single line diagrams, load lists, hazardous area classification, control system architecture, interlocking schemes, and cable routing. Power and controls scoped to the same spatial model as every other discipline.

SLD Load Lists Area Classification Control Architecture
Full E&I scope → FEED → Detailed
04 // CIVIL & STRUCTURAL

Civil & Structural

Foundation design, structural steel framing, pipe rack spans, access platforms, walkways, and stairways. Sized against actual equipment loads, not preliminary estimates.

Foundations Steel Framing Pipe Racks Access Platforms
Full civil/structural scope → Pre-FEED → FEED → Detailed
05 // MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT

Mechanical Equipment Design

ASME/API vessel sizing, exchanger specification, rotating equipment datasheets, and mechanical design calculations. Equipment designed to code, not to catalogue assumptions.

ASME VIII API 650/620 Exchangers Rotating Equipment
Full mechanical scope → FEED → Detailed
06 // PACKAGE ENGINEERING

Package Engineering

Skid-mounted process packages, modular assemblies, and vendor-package integration. Designed for transport, lifting, and drop-in installation without field modification.

Skid Design Modular Assembly Vendor Integration CoG / Lifting
07 // AS-BUILT & SCAN-TO-3D

As-Built Drawings & Brownfield Digitization

Point cloud scan-to-3D conversion, intelligent P&ID digitization, and as-built documentation for brownfield revamps. The actual plant geometry replaces whatever's on file.

Point Cloud Scan-to-3D As-Built P&IDs Clash Detection
08 // MECHANICAL ANALYSIS

Mechanical Equipment Analysis

FEA, pipe stress, thermal analysis, vibration studies, fitness-for-service assessments, and design optimization. The engineering that decides whether existing or new equipment can handle what's being asked of it.

How it works

From first conversation to IFC package

A disciplined four-step handoff engineered to validate inputs, catch interface clashes early, and issue construction-grade packages on schedule.

01

Share your project basis

FEED output, existing plant data, or a scope description. Whatever stage you're at, that's where we start.

02

Scoping and team sizing

We map the disciplines needed, confirm applicable codes, and size the team to your schedule.

03

Multi-discipline execution

30%, 60%, and 90% model reviews against the same coordinated 3D model. Clashes caught in review, not in the field.

04

IFC package delivery

Issued-for-construction drawings, fabrication packages, material take-offs, and a complete document register.

Why teams work with us

We scope capital projects for demanding EPCs and owner-operators

Engineering rigor, parallel multidisciplinary validation, and single-point accountability for mission-critical facilities.

Confidential by Default

A confidential NDA is executed before any process data or file is reviewed.

Multi-Discipline Validation

Process, piping, civil, and E&I disciplines validate every concept in parallel.

Fixed-Fee Proposals

A scoped, fixed-fee proposal comes back after the scoping call, no open-ended billing.

FEED-Ready Handover

Deliverables are built to hand straight into a FEED Scope of Work, no rework at handoff.

FAQ

Common questions about working with us

Key technical details regarding project handoff, disciplines, existing documentation, and model review protocols.

It depends on what's already in hand. If you have a validated Basis of Design, finalized P&IDs, and a closed HAZOP, detailed engineering can start from there. If that basis doesn't exist yet, a FEED phase builds it, or a Pre-FEED study if the concept itself still needs validation.
Yes. We work from the existing document register and model as the starting point, so the transition doesn't require re-engineering what's already been produced.
ASME (B31.3, B31.4, Section VIII), API (650, 620), IEC, Eurocode, and UKCA requirements, depending on project geography and applicable regulations. Code basis is confirmed during scoping.
We run formal reviews at 30%, 60%, and 90% model completion. Each review is a coordinated check across all active disciplines, catching spatial clashes, interface mismatches, and constructability issues while they're still cheap to resolve.
